I Never Promised You A Rose Garden delves into the intricate relationship that young women cultivate with themselves during their adolescence, highlighting the lessons they learn during this inherently traumatic yet creatively charged period of their life. Photographed within the intimate confines of their bedrooms, this space serves as a poignant reflection of the transformative journey undertaken and the evolution of their identities from the individuals they once were.

I Never Promised You A Rose Garden debuted at the photography graduate showcase of Institute of Art, Design & Technology Dún Laoghaire . The project went on to be purchased by the OPW State Collection, followed shortly by its shortlisting in the AIB Portrait Prize 2024. It displayed in The National Gallery of Ireland for the duration of the competition, and went on to win Highly Commended. Following that, the project had a solo exhibition for the Northern Ireland Mental Health Arts Festival. Most recently, its on display in The Library Project in Dublin, as part of Photo Irelands’ annual visual media fair.
